About Bobby Singh

B.P. "Bobby Singh", an alumni of the prestigious St. Stephen's College, pursued his management studies at the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta. Twice Delhi University and St. Stephen's Tennis Captain he was also a former Junior Tennis champion and winner of several Zonal and State championships. In order to pursue his dream to produce Wimbledon champions he returned to his first love - tennis - thereby giving up a lucrative career in the corporate world as a senior Regional Product Manager in Tata Steel where he excelled in Management and Marketing. With a vision to offering professional tennis opportunities in India, he founded the Peninsula Tennis Academy to unearth and nurture talent. The first to inspire the great tennis legends Ramanathan Krishnan, Ramesh Krishnan and Jaidip Mukerjea to share their expertise with aspiring champions through coaching, Bobby Singh very quickly brought in the much needed professionalism to raise the standard of Indian tennis.

Bobby Singh, Director Peninsula Tennis Academy collaborated with the internationally acclaimed Professional Tennis Registry (PTR),USA,to primarily offer world class professional coaching techniques to Indian coaches. The PTR certifies tennis teachers through an internationally recognised teaching method. The PTR Workshops organised all over India by the Peninsula Tennis Academy, have certified and trained over 2000 coaches in India and South East Asia..

In an effort to make tennis a rewarding career for young Indians, Bobby Singh realised the significance of having greater prize money in this sport. Tying up with various corporate and multinationals, numerous Tennis Tournaments are held in a bid to make tennis bring in unprecedented prize money for Juniors - an effort much lauded by the players, public and the press.

Before setting up the Academy, the consummate professional that he is, Singh visited tennis academies in Europe and USA. His aim was to replicate the best there was in the world. The Peninsula Tennis Academy is equipped with state-of-the-art ball machines, tennis analyst computers, servo-meters and mental toughness kits, making it one of the most advanced in the country.
